In a latest attempt to woo Muslim voters and appease minorities, Ram Vilas Paswan, led LJP favored the citizenship of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants. The Party passed a resolution in its training camp held in Pushkar recently, that Bangladeshi staying in India till August 31, 2008 should be given the citizenship of India.
We all know Mr. Paswan, earlier an ally of NDA, and now a constituent of UPA, is purely an opportunistic and a hard core cast based politician, is successfully running his politics by appeasing minorities and Dalit classes. But supporting the legalization of Bangladeshi immigrants is the most ridiculous thing in the recent times and it should be condemned unanimously. I think this is the ethical degradation of Indian politics.
Illegal immigration from Bangladesh has become a gravest threat to India’s internal security. There are enough evidences that many Bangladeshi immigrants are associated with militant groups, operating from Bangladeshi Border and in Pakistan. Apart from actively involved in terrorism activities, many Bangladeshi immigrants are indulged in ammunition, fake currency, Drugs trafficking and women trafficking. Giving citizenship to the Bangladeshi immigrants means giving citizenship to terrorists as well.
According to an intelligence official in Guwahati every day around 6,000 illegal infiltrators cross the border and enter the state. As per the latest data 12 lakh Bangladeshi went missing in India. Our own people are being reduced to minority in home states. Local dwellers in Assam and West Bengal have lost their jobs and their cultural heritage.
It pointed out that if effective steps were not taken, it could lead to the possibility of a demand for Brihad (Greater) Bangladesh in the near future.
Honorable Supreme court expressed his concerns many times and asked Union and states governments to prevent Bangladeshi immigrants entering the country.
Government provides basic amenities to citizens, which comes from pocket of tax payers. Pitiably, these facilities and resources are being availed by illegal immigrants. This practice is restraining our growth and depriving us from our rights as citizens of India.
Coming back to the point, with an eye on Muslim votes, Paswan advocated granting of citizenship to illegal Bangladeshi migrants in the country. Paswam is also advocating reservation for Muslim, but if the citizenship would be given to Bangladeshi’s, the reservation will be divided between Indian Muslim and Bangladeshi Muslims, and therefore, it is not good for Muslim community as well. Because anything which bad for India is bad for Muslims.
In my opinion, if any one causing havoc to India and trying to collapse India in any way - is anti-national. This is against the nationalism and anyone who is against the nationalism is considered as a traitor or an anti national. Advocating for anti national elements is also an equal crime. So what should we call Mr. Paswan an honorable minister or an Anti national?
